I was just given a book called "Why we're not emergent" By Deyoung and Kluck. It seems interesting enough to devote some time to and comes highly recommended. Since we all have loads of free time I was wondering if anyone wanted to read thought it with me? I feel that if I read it solo then I'm going to end up just digesting it with out chewing on what the authors are saying? Plus I think we have a wide enough, opinionated enough crew that it would spawn some good conversation. Anyone up for it?
We can hash out the details of how it all works later.

Book sounds very interesting to me, I'm game.
I'd love to but I'm already drowning under the tumultuous waves of my school reading. I've heard good things about the book, though.
Crazy Christians make you read so much!
sweet anyone else?
Goebel let me know when you can find a copy and we'll figure out the details later.
ordered it today, let you know when it comes in
just got the book today dave, need to check with randy, he said he was interested, if he's out, we can get rolling
I am too poor to do this fun thing; I just want to make it clear that I would otherwise love to be engaged.
randy, dave, wanna say 1 chapter a week or how u wanna do it?
lets rock out intro (assume there is one) and chapter one by next Thur.
maybe post sections that we find interesting and challenging. I'm always a fan of looking for something i don't agree with. It makes me read more critically.
those are just suggestions i'm also up for reading the entire book tonight and turning in a several page proposal to a rebuttal work.
you call it.
probably should start a new post for this one. So who read and what stood out?
Is it too late to get in on this. The whole emergent deal is greek to me.
Honestly i don't know I got through the first chapter then i think the holidays rolled in force. We haven't really chatted much about it.
Anyone get past intro and ch1??
game on? anyone?
